4 hrs
  -> Oui, Merci !

4 hrs
  -> Je suis d'accord, Merci !

6 hrs
  -> Oui en effet, Merci !

agree  AllegroTrans: principes de base serait mieux
7 hrs
  -> Thanks !

neutral  Daryo: sounds too theoretical for this ST/ "principes de base" is better

Explanation:

neutral  Tony M: I don't believe this has anything to do with the chapter titles.

neutral  Daryo: very roughly it is that, but in this text is sounds more like "general principles we use as starting point"

from FROM FRIRST PRINCIPLES
en utilisant l'outil Ab Initio

Explanation:
I found several definitions of "First principles", but being an IT text, I propose the "Ab Initio" translation.

1. https://www.maray.ai/posts/first-principles-thinking: " a first principle is a proposition or an assumption on which true knowledge is based"
2. https://jamesclear.com/first-principles: " First principles thinking, which is sometimes called reasoning from first principles, is one of the most effective strategies you can employ for breaking down complicated problems and generating original solutions. "
3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_principle: "A first principle is a basic proposition or assumption that cannot be deduced from any other proposition or assumption.". "In a formal logical system, that is, a set of propositions that are consistent with one another, it is possible that some of the statements can be deduced from other statements."

disagree  AllegroTrans: "Ab initio" has a quite different meaning to "first principles"
16 hrs
  -> Yes, you're right, but in science, Ab Initio means from the First Principles. Look at the definition of Ab Initio in Wikipedia

disagree  Daryo: not in a year of Sundays // just because when naming their wares some people try "creatively" to misappropriate for themselves already existing general concepts does not give them any kind of monopoly on them.

  -> This is a community where people can write freely their comments and they try to help each other. This is not a place to say "I'm the best". So Mr. Daryo I don't like your irony and I feel like telling you you're totally impolite.

Principes à priori

Explanation:
Nonetheless, les principes de base are the basic principles, and this isn't the case I presume.
A first principle is a basic proposition or assumption that cannot be deduced from any other proposition or assumption. In philosophy, first principles are from First Cause attitudes and taught by Aristotelians, and nuanced versions of first principles are referred to as postulates by Kantians. In physics, a calculation is said to be from first principles, or ab initio, if it starts directly at the level of established laws of physics and does not make assumptions such as empirical model and fitting parameters. Overall, a first principle is the first basis from which a thing is known. Thus, we could express it in French such as Principes à priori.

disagree  Tony M: It is the 'schedule' that is to be developed 'from first principles' — in other words, going back to basics. / Be that as it may, there is no connection between 'a priori' and the meaning of the EN source text here.
2 hrs
  -> Though the context is a little bit scrappy of some more juicy clues, only out of my own experience in family business administration, there's something that is strongly telling me that this à priori knowledge precedes anything else.

disagree  AllegroTrans: Agree with both of the above disagrees
3 hrs
  -> Feel free to have the absolute right to express openly your opinion, but you forgot to declare some meaningful argumentation quote to that. Thank you.

disagree  Daryo: whatever the case might be ELSEWHERE, it simply doesn't fit IN THIS TEXT // No one is in this ST advocating applying some principles plucked out of thin air ...
