Phill: If I'd known it was my last summer there,
I'd have gone for the lead in Pippin.

Phil was in the car with his two daughters. The girls confessed that they don't want to go to the summer family camp anymore. I'm not sure whether it means 'to dance, sing, or what. Any help, please?
