you don't do an "Annual review" after 3 months. You do it once a year, usually counting from the start date of employment.

OTOH you might do a "Review of the annual salary" - at any time.

My guess would be:

-- the initial (/probationary) salary is given as an amount per year

-- the initial (/probationary) salary is paid in monthly equivalents the first three months

-- at the end of the 3 month probationary period there is a salary review and a new annual salary is given

-- after that the salary will be reviewed annually

-- the yearly amount of the salary will be paid in monthly equivalents, for each month at the end of that month.

IOW the typo-free ST should be:

Basic salary
• £XX,XXX per annum for 3 month probationary period and then to be reviewed
• Annual review
• Payment made monthly at end of month into bank account

I agree with what I understand Phil's comment to be: there are a number of separate things (1) an initial salary reviewable after 3 months
(2) Salary is annual
(3) Salary is paid in equal monthly instalments at the end of the month.
it's all in the way it is laid out.

I think it's a typo. "Payment" should be on a separate line, hence the uppercase P. "Annual review thereafter" would be clearer.
