Y hubo mucha polémica, el hashtag hace referencia a los hechos históricos, las victorias, logros mexicanos, comparando los partidos ganados (o a darlo todo en la cancha, aunque no se gane) de las selecciones mexicanas (varonil, femenil y todas las 'subs') con un "hecho/evento" COMPARTIDO a nivel nacional. Ese es el sentido. Por eso "Hecho De Los Mexicanos" = pertenencia histórica (ojo cómo están puestas las mayúsculas), aunque en mi opinión la expresión en español resulta bastante pobre (pero eso fue lo que se les ocurrió!) If this was my client, I would offer at least some detail or short explanation to help her or him understand what's behind the idea that is being expressed to promote the team in question, rather than just resort to literalness.

Unless I am mistaken, George is not looking for a creative hashtag for use by the soccer team, simply a functional translation. He has already said the translation is not for publication, but just for some non Spanish native-speaking client to understand. End of.

The branding of sports teams is very important to their owners, who make billions off the athletic prowess of professional team members. Therefore, I would go for a creative solution, and not the literal one, which, IMO, would not generate much interest on the part of ticket-purchasing fans.

All you need is a literal translation. Some more fanciful suggestions have been put forward but the purpose of the translation isn't to copywrite a new English hashtag for the Mexican national soccer team.

I agree. It is not really a translation that is going to be published. It is intended for the client's reviewers who do not understand Spanish but want to know what's being said.

and it is no longer a hashtag. If this is in a document for translation you should leave it unaltered. A translation purely "for understanding" is OK of course, but that needs to be made clear
