Nomination et révocation des administrateurs
Les premiers administrateurs (deux au minimum) sont désignés, soit par les statuts pour une durée de trois ans s’il est stipulé que leur nomination n’est pas assujettie à l’approbation de l’assemblée générale, soit par l’assemblée constitutive pour une durée de six ans.

A l’échéance de leur mandat, les administrateurs peuvent être reconduits dans leurs fonctions sur décision de l’assemblée générale.

Les administrateurs sont révocables ad nutum. Ils peuvent également démissionner en notifiant à la société leur décision. Aucun formalisme n’est exigé.

The difference between these two types of "temporary" makes a world of difference:

What this law says is that a "société anonyme monégasque" / SAM can not have a director with unlimited mandate.

A completely different kind of "temporarity" compared to "temporary" in the case of a "temporary replacement" for a permanent employee on sick leave.

In other words, whoever is "un administrateur" of a AM is in that position on its own right, but for a limited time.

  -> That was my initial hunch - they are not "temporary substitutes for s.o. seen as being the real/true/permanent post holder" but their role is "temporary = limited in time". Confirmed after wading through a number of sources. Thanks!
