Spanish term
trafico creciente / decreciente
Spanish to English
Other
Transport / Transportation / Shipping
traffic / driving in Spain
I understand that "sentido creciente" or "decreciente" refers to the direction of a road and the Km number, however I am not certain if there is a translation for English UK.For instance: "automoviles en la autopista sentido creciente" implies that the Km number will increase as the vehicles drive in that direction.

I have a feeling we've had this before, but maybe it was in another language.
We don't tend to use this construction in English, or pay much attention to mileposts.
Depending on the wider context, I'd put "northbound", or whatever direction applies, or "heading towards/away from".

That's funny - I've just searched the glossary again, and it still doesn't come up, so maybe it didn't for Adriana either. Thanks!

: a muddled and inconclusive answer - 'see my suggestions' being unamenable to a new and *definitive* glossary entry.

increasing / decreasing traffic
"Tráfico creciente / decreciente" in Spain refers to the density or intensity of traffic on a road....nothing to do with the direction nor distance. Cheers.

: You do have a point - the header says 'trafico' but the question is about 'sentido'. I assume the header is wrong.
