Inclusión total. 1b

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Pathological Anatomy
I am currently translating a pathological anatomy report from Spain and am coming across this combination under the "DESCRIPCIÓN MACROSCÓPICA" for each sample.

Here is an excerpt from an example I found online in the exact same context:

DESCRIPCIÓN MACROSCÓPICA
"12h": Dos fragmentos irregulaes de tejido que miden entre 0,1 a 0,9 cm.
Inclusión total. 1B

See full text here: https://www.cotilleando.com/threads/salud-vaginal.147796/ (last post on the page).

As for the "inclusión total,"I'm coming across a few different possibilities, such as "total included" (https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/medical-health... I have also come across this tweet which suggests "Muestreo completo," which seems to contradict the "total included" translation: https://twitter.com/martiponi/status/1544395967897784327

As for the "1B," I am stumped, but it seems particular to Spain, seeing as the only instance I found of this online (as posted above) is also from Spain.
Proposed translations (English)
4 +1 total embedding, 1 b

Lisa Rosengard Jun 21, 2023:
I imagine that the diameter of the part of slide for the medical sample on which the sample is placed must have enough space to include all of the sample which is there to be examined in microscopy, without a slightest omission.
(Pienso que el diámetro de la parte del casete sobre el cual se mete el muestral tiene que tener bastante espacio para incluir la totalidad del muestral que hay por examinar de la microscopia sin ometer nada del muestral.)

All lymph nodes must be found and submitted in their entirety (must record whether nodes are bisected or trisected and submitted in one block or in multiple blocks)

The fixed specimen is then placed in a machine that automatically goes through an elaborate overnight cycle that removes all the water from the specimen and replaces it with paraffin wax. The next morning, a technical professional, called a histologic technician, or “histotech,” removes the paraffin-impregnated specimen and “embeds” it in a larger bloc of molten paraffin. This is allowed to solidify by chilling and is set in a cutting machine, called a microtome. The histotech uses the microtome to cut thin sections of the paraffin block containing the biopsy specimen. These delicate sections are floated out on a water bath and picked up on a glass slide.

The “Cassette ‘A’, all, bisected” phrase indicates that the specimen was cut in half (“bisected”), submitted for tissue processing in its entirety (“all”) in a small container (cassette) labeled “A,” which will eventually be placed in the tissue processor.

Toma de muestras
- Margen bronquial
- Adenopatías hiliares/lobares
- Tumor:

Regardless of its size, the tumour should be processed in a representative manner, ideally achieved by examining the entirety of the cut surfaces in multiple planes. For large tumours, a minimum of 1 block/1 cm is recommended.

agree ezpz : Total included: 1 block. I think you should suggest as an answer.

Thank you, ezpz. Liz Askew has posted an answer and I don't know if 'total embedding', 'in its entirety' or something else is the right translation.
