From a 1941 letter, written in Vienna, Austria:

"N. und N. beneide ich um ihre Jugend, insbesondere der Stollen wegen. Ich erinnere mich noch ganz genau, wie wir vor N.s Tür auf den Stufen saßen und Stollen spielten und jede freie Minute dazu verwendeten."

I can't find any reference to such a game. Any ideas?
