Medical - Medical (general) / Pathology report for breast cancer
Spanish term or phrase: ICExternos
The following text appears in a pathology report for breast cancer:
Descripción Macroscópica:
A) "Mama Izquierda, CIE – Pared Costal": [gross description]
There is no relevant additional information that would suggest the intended meaning.

I am familiar with the acronyms for the quadrants (eg. "CIE", in this case), but do not understand what "ICExternos" is intended to mean.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks.

ULOQ(s)
Explanation:
O bien,
Junction(s) of Upper and Lower Outer Quadrants

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi Chema. Many thanks for this. I thought that JOQ might be an option but I can now see that ULOQ is the correct acronym. Cheers, John.

I've read the comments in the discussion box of the KudoZ question I've included in my answer, and apparently 'between' is also used.

Second case shows an invasive lobular carcinoma in a 48 years old woman localized between outer quadrants of the right breast. MRI (Figure 3) presents mass-like irregular ill-defined inhomogeneous and intense lesion (RM4) that is compatible on ABVS (Figure 4) with a large hypoechoic area with indistinct margins and multiple posterior shadowing artifacts (U5).

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks Helen. I think this is the essence of the intended meaning. I've also come across "junction of the outer quadrants".
