Estoy traduciendo un documento sobre importaciones y exportaciones y me gustaría saber cuál sería la traducción más apropiada en este contexto. A continuación, un pequeño extracto de la parte en donde aparece la expresión consultada.

Los buques petroleros continúan como el **segmento de mayor circulación** en la franja del pacifico del país.

Oil tankers remain/ continue to be the **most trafficked container segment** in the pacific coast in the country.

Me da la impresión que debo complementar la palabra "segmento" en la traducción. Por otro lado, por lo general, en este contexto "circulación" se traduce como "(vessel) traffic".
