Any idea what part this is in a disc brake system?

carrier (brake), context: patents

"a disc (12) which is mounted such that it can rotate about an axis (B), of the type in which the caliper (28) is mounted such that it can slide axially in relation to **the carrier (14)** by means of a first (40A) and of a second (40B) axial parallel guide pin, ..."

mounting
It's just another word for the bit that holds the pads in position (and in this case, as it's a floating system, that allows them to move as required).
According to Wikipedia: la chape is the "pièce de fonderie supportant les plaquettes et fixant le frein complet sur le véhicule"

: I prefer Schtroumph's "carrier" to "yoke". Same idea as mounting. https://www.my-cardictionary.com/brake/disc-brake.html

yoke (body)

8.12. Front Wheel Brake Check and Adjustment It is recommended to have the following work made by a special service. For the front wheel hydraulic brake, the brake plates are self-adjusting. Due to wet, dirty or wear the brake plates can become hardly movable in the disk brake yoke body after long use.

The Disc Brake Yoke is an essential component for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of your vehicle's braking system.
The Disc Brake Yoke's primary function is to connect the disc brake caliper to the brake pad, allowing for precise and reliable braking action. It plays a crucial role in ensuring that the braking force is evenly distributed, preventing uneven wear and tear on the brake pads and promoting longer pad life.

: Yoke est correct àmha. Body n'a rien à y faire.

Thank you for the Renault’s Glossary. It says CHAPE <> CLEVIS; CHAPE <>YOKE; CHAPE<> FORK; CHAPE (FREIN) <> YOKE (BRAKE).

bracket
Brake Caliper Bracket
The brake caliper bracket is a metal component that mounts the brake caliper to the vehicle's suspension system, allowing it to move freely while maintaining proper alignment with the brake rotor. The bracket also serves as a mounting point for the brake pads. Over time, the brake caliper bracket can become worn or damaged, potentially leading to uneven brake pad wear or reduced braking performance.

Peugeot (which calls them both chape d'étrier and support d'étrier) seems to call the things 'brackets' (see image), as do Ford, Dodge, Jeep, & Chevrolet (the ones I've looked into).
But if the vehicle is of German extraction, people seem to call them 'saddles' (Sattel).

In the automotive sector it translates like this. "Coverage" an alternative that doesn't convince me.

Petite colonne. Des archivoltes à colonnettes de marbre.

In the given context, it is probably a dowel or pin, perhaps used for vertical suspension.
