Spanish term or phrase: cuya información confidencial se trata
Representation Contract (Colombia)

I know that "se trata" means to be about but in this context does "tratar" mean to process?

Therefore, is it "whose information it concerns" or "whose information is being processed"?

Many thanks in advance.

la parte cuya información confidencial se trata
the subject of the data

Explanation:
I don't believe it means "is processing", but it doesn't really affect the translation anyway.

You could translate "la parte de cuya información confidencial se trata" simply as "the subject of the data". I wouldn't repeat "confidential" the way the Spanish does.

I wouldn't say "being processed" as this may not yet be the case

de cuya información confidencial se trata
whose confidential information is the one involved

Explanation:
The question has arguably been wrongly formulated or parsed. It's prefixed with 'de' - like 'il s'agit de' and the previous answers crucially omit the element of 'confidential'.

Example sentence(s):
  • Confidential information is information disclosed by one party to another in any way that is designated as confidential.
