Medical - Medical (general)
Italian term or phrase: Medicina Generale del Territorio
How would you translate:

'Competente in Medicina Generale del Territorio'

Referring to a persons profession following their name.

Is it simply 'Local General Practitioner'?

OR a more literal translation and maybe more accurate:

'General Medicine of the Territory'

Any suggestions greatly appreciated :)

Asker: Thanks Phil and Judy. This clarified it perfectly for me.

agree  JudyC: I'd use "expert" for "competente", which I've only found in a list of members of the "Comitato Etico Territoriale Lombardia 5" Community/Health District Ethics Committee //the idea is that he is on the Committee because he has expertise in family medicine

  -> Thanks for agreeing - but I think 'expert' is used differently to 'esperto' and I'm not sure it would fit here.

competente in Medicina Generale del Territorio
qualified in Community Healthcare

Explanation:
That phrase is already in the ProZ glossarie, but I am going claim the 'competente in' part as my qualified vs. expert own.

Example sentence(s):
  • Community health workers are citizens who work for pay or as volunteers to support the local health care system.
