English term

specialty

English to Spanish Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
I don't know the Spanish equivalent of this word.

According to Black's Las Dictionary: A specialty is a contract under seal, and is considered by law as entered into with more solemnity, and, consequently, of higher dignity than ordinary simple contracts.

I would appreciate your help. Thanks in advance!

English term (edited): specialty contract
Selected

contrato elevado a escritura pública {con doble plazo de prescripción extintiva = 12 doce años}

is a contract (normal UK time limit is 6 years) contained in a specialty (BrE) deed under seal / time limit = *12* years (AmE) land deed or non-land instrument. (routinely a trick UK law school question to show clever the law lecturer is).

specialty debt : deuda escriturada, Alacaraz - rather than Alcatraz - & Hughes.

Lo importante a mi parecer (a diferencia de Black's Law Dictionary) es el más largo plazo de prescripción extintiva vs. adquisitiva.
Example sentence:

A speciality is a contract or covenant executed as a deed. Historically a promise contained in a deed was referred to as a 'contract on a specialty' to distinguish it from a 'simple' contract supported by consideration.

Esta nueva disposición constitucional establece que la duplicidad del plazo de prescripción es aplicable para todos los delitos contra la administración pública, lesionen o no el patrimonio del Estado
