English term

imbedded

Non-PRO English Other Environment & Ecology
Is "imbedded" correct here? Also, does this sentence sound OK? I am not sure about that. Thanks for your help. (By the way, I am trying to grade my previous questions but there seems to be some kind of error on the website. I'll try to do that later, then.)

"The aforementioned campaign also imbedded in the population unprecedented awareness about the importance of garbage selective collect, which grew 240% in 10 years."

Imbibed

I suggest the following: The aforementioned campaign also IMBIBED, in the population, AN unprecedented awareness about the importance of SEGREGATED garbage COLLECTION, which grew BY 240% in 10 years.". {The campaign imbibed (or Imbued or Instilled) an awareness in the population.} Hope this helps.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Nancy Arrowsmith : imbued yes, imbibed no - means to drink

That is only one of its meanings! Please see the same dictionary which says: "2 a : to receive into the mind and retain b : to assimilate or take into solution"
