English term

curtain sided trailer

English to Dutch Other Transport / Transportation / Shipping transport
A curtain sided, rather than flat trailer, must be used.

I know that a curtain sided lorry has access three ways (back and both sides) but am not sure about the corresponding Dutch term.

huiftrailer

Of huifoplegger.
Succes.

tautliner; schuifzeiler

a 'huiftrailer' is a semi that can be broken down completely - including the roof and all sidebars. a 'curtain sided trailer' is exactly that: a semi which has curtains on both sides, but a fixed roof. (to make it even more complicated: there are curtain sided trailers which do have a mechanism to also slide the roof) The usual terms in dutch transport are either 'tautliner' (official term) or 'schuifzeiler' (day to day / on the job expression)
