This is from an architectural course description:
"Students wishing to enrol in the Advanced Degree course must:...have good knowledge of the typological, compositive and distributive aspects of architecture;..."
I would feel very confident in phrasing it as "typological and distributive aspects" (or, characteristics if you prefer).
