this deals with female patients, excuse me but I believe I did say "ginecología" in the title. This is from a hospital in Spain which has been trying out a new technique

One more URL for your own research comparison, then I promise I'll leave you in peace! hahaha. This one is nice b/c it offers various diagrams and techniques so you can find the match (if possible). From the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Here is an English language ref on surgical options for women suffering from incontinence. There is a clear reference to "tension-free support". This may be what you're after.

Sentences: The uretha maintains a tight seal to prevent involuntary loss of urine. For women with stress urinary incontinence, a weakened pelvic muscle floor cannot support the urethra in its correct position. To correct this, your surgeon will insert a mesh tape through the vagina to support the urethra. Surgery using GYNECARE TVT tension-free support may last only about 30 minutes.

Hola a tod@s,

Given the differences in causes (and thefore, the correlating surgical procedures) of incontinence between men and women, it might help if Lynne could tell us (if possible) if this deals with a male or female patient. Also, if its from a research article, any medical journal references. Suerte!
Lynne Gleghorn (asker) May 26, 2009:
I know. I found the same two and that's why I posted the question. It doesn't sound right somehow. But thanks for your comment.
