I'm a native English speaker with five years' experience translating, and work from Italian and Spanish into English. I lived in Andalusia for seven years and also spent one year in Italy. I have a background in dentistry, having worked as a dental surgery assistant for four years, with hands-on experience in general dentistry, conservation, endodontics, maxillofacial and oral surgery, and orthodontics and hold the National Certificate for Dental Nurses from the UK. I gained a first-class BA in Translation Studies (Spanish-English) from Roehampton University in London after deciding to pursue my interest in languages, having also worked as an English teacher in both Spain and Italy. My translation experience has been focused on medical translation, which is my main specialisation, and within this field I regularly work with oncology and cardiology medical reports, as well as textbook content and articles for publication in international journals. I also have experience in business translation, particularly web content and product brochures and manuals, within many commercial and industrial fields. I am committed to developing my translation skills, participating in ongoing training to broaden my knowledge, and am planning to take a postgraduate course in Italian to English translation in the near future. |
