They are unlikely to confront me directly, but if they do I shall tell them the truth. I shall state my business. I’m planning to stop at Heathrow Airport until I see someone I know. (...)
Astonishingly, I wait for thirty-nine minutes and don’t see one person I know. Not one, and no-one knows me. I’m as anonymous as the drivers with their universal name-cards (some surnames I know), except the drivers are better dressed. Since the kids, whatever I wear looks like pyjamas. Coats, shirts, T-shirts, jeans, suits; like slept-in pyjamas. (...)
I hear myself thinking about all the people I know who have let me down by not leaving early on a Tuesday morning for glamorous European destinations. My former colleagues from the insurance office must still be stuck at their desks, like I always said they would be, when I was stuck there too, wasting my time and unable to settle while Ally moved steadily onward, getting her PhD and her first research fellowship at Reading University, her first promotion.
Our more recent grown-up friends, who have serious jobs and who therefore I half expect to be seeing any moment now, tell me that home-making is a perfectly decent occupation for a man, courageous even, yes, manly to stay at home with the kids. These friends of ours are primarily Ally’s friends. I don’t seem to know anyone anymore, and away from the children and the overhead planes, hearing myself think, I hear the thoughts of a whinger. This is not what I had been hoping to hear.
I start crying, not grimacing or sobbing, just big silent tears rolling down my cheeks. I don’t want anyone I know to see me crying, because I’m not the kind of person who cracks up at Heathrow airport some nothing Tuesday morning. I manage our house impeccably, like a business. It’s a serious job. I have spreadsheets to monitor the hoover-bag situation and colour-coded print-outs about the ethical consequences of nappies. I am not myself this morning. I don’t know who I am.

Kupodivu už čekám devětatřicet minut a neviděl jsem jediného člověka, kterého bych znal. Nikoho. A nikdo ani nezná mě. Jsem stejně anonymní jako řidiči s univerzálními jmenovkami (některá příjmení znám). S tím rozdílem, že řidiči jsou lépe oblečeni. Už odmala na mně každé oblečení vypadá jako pyžamo. Moje myšlenky se točí okolo všech těch lidí, kteří mě nechali na holičkách, protože se v úterý ráno nevydali do žádného z nádherných evropských měst. Bývalí kolegové z pojišťovny určitě pořád trčí u svých stolů, přesně jak jsem jim předpovídal, když jsem tam trčel taky. Ztrácel jsem čas a nebyl schopen se usadit, zatímco Ally postupovala vytrvale dál, získala doktorát a odjela na první stáž na univerzitu v Readingu, poprvé ji povýšili.
Naši pozdější dospělí přátelé, kteří mají solidní zaměstnání a které tudíž musím každou chvíli potkat – alespoň to napůl očekávám – mi vždycky tvrdili, že být mužem v domácnosti je pro chlapa naprosto v pořádku. Že zůstat doma s dětmi je odvážné, ba přímo mužné. Jsou to především přátelé Ally. Zdá se, že já už nikoho neznám. A tady, daleko od dětí i hlučících letadel, slyším své vlastní myšlenky. Myšlenky remcala. To není to, co jsem chtěl slyšet.
Začínám brečet. Nešklebím se ani nevzlykám, jen se mi po tvářích tiše koulejí velké slzy. Nechci, aby mě někdo viděl plakat. Nejsem ten typ, který se jednoho obyčejného úterního rána sesype na letišti Heathrow. Vedu naši domácnost perfektně, skoro jako podnik. Je to solidní práce. Mám tabulky, ve kterých sleduji stav sáčků do vysavače, a barevné přehledy etických následků používání plen. Dneska to ale nejsem já. Nevím, kdo jsem.

Source text - English Your heart works as both a mechanical pump and an electrical organ. It is able to beat because it produces electrical impulses. These impulses travel through the electrical pathways of your heart (Figure 1), causing the muscle contraction that pumps blood throughout your body.
Normally these impulses come from a small area in your heart called the sinoatrial (SA) node. This area is located in the upper right chamber, or right atrium. When the SA node signals the two upper chambers of the heart (the atria), they contract at the same time. The atrial contraction fills the two lower chambers (the ventricles) with blood (Figure 2). As the electrical Your heart’s natural pacemaker impulse travels to the ventricles, it causes them to contract, which pumps blood out to your body. The contraction of the heart muscle (ventricles) is what you feel as a heartbeat. After a brief rest, the cycle begins again.
Translation - Czech Srdce funguje jako mechanická pumpa i jako elektrický orgán. Může tepat, protože vytváří elektrické impulsy. Tyto impulsy procházejí elektrickými drahami srdce (obrázek 1), což způsobuje svalové stahy, které vhánějí krev do těla.
Tyto impulsy obvykle vycházejí z malé oblasti v srdci, která se nazývá sinoatriální (SA) uzel. Tato oblast se nachází v pravé horní dutině, neboli pravé síni. Když SA uzel vyšle signál do dvou horních dutin srdce (síní), obě dutiny se současně stáhnou. Stažení síní naplní dvě dolní dutiny (komory) krví (obrázek 2). 2.1 License: Subject to the terms of this Agreement, XXX hereby grants You a limited, personal, non-commercial, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-assignable, free of charge license to download, install and use the XXX Software on Your computer, phone or PDA for the sole purpose of personally using the internet communication applications provided by XXX and any other applications that may be explicitly provided by XXX. You are allowed to use the XXX Software at university or any other educational institution, subject to paragraph 4.4 below and in accordance with this Agreement and any applicable Additional Terms. You are allowed to use the XXX Software at work to make communications relating to Your business in accordance with this Agreement and any applicable Additional Terms (such as the Terms of Service referred to in paragraph 7 below if You use the payable VoIP products and/or are a Member or an Administrator of a Business Control Panel).
2.2 No Granting of Rights to Third Parties: You will not sell, assign, rent, lease, distribute, export, import, act as an intermediary or provider, or otherwise grant rights to third parties with regard to the XXX Software or any part thereof.
2.3 No Modifications: You will not undertake, cause, permit or authorize the modification, creation of derivative works, translation, reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling or hacking of the XXX Software or any part thereof except to the extent permitted by law.
2.4 Third Parties: The XXX Software may be incorporated into, and may incorporate itself, software and other technology owned and controlled by third parties. Any such third party software or technology that is incorporated in the XXX Software falls under the scope of this Agreement. Any and all other third party software or technology that may be distributed together with the XXX Software will be subject to You explicitly accepting a license agreement with that third party. You acknowledge and agree that You will not enter into a contractual relationship with XXX or its Affiliates regarding such third party software or technology and you will look solely to the applicable third party and not to XXX or its Affiliates to enforce any of your rights.
2.5 Exclusive Ownership: Any and all IP Rights in the XXX Software, the XXX Website, the XXX Online Material and the XXX Promotional Materials are and shall remain the exclusive property of XXX and/or its licensors. Nothing in this Agreement intends to transfer any such IP Rights to, or to vest any such IP Rights in, You. You are only entitled to the limited use of the IP Rights granted to You in this Agreement. You will not take any action to jeopardize, limit or interfere with XXX’s IP Rights. Any unauthorized use of XXX’s IP Rights is a violation of this Agreement as well as a violation of intellectual property laws and treaties, including without limitation copyright laws and trademark laws. All title and IP Rights in and to any third party content that is not contained in the XXX Software, but may be accessed through use of the XXX Software, is the property of the respective content owners and may be protected by applicable copyright or other intellectual property laws and treaties.

Software XXX smíte používat na univerzitě nebo v jiné vzdělávací instituci při dodržení ustanovení odstavce 4.4 níže a v souladu s touto smlouvou a všemi platnými Dalšími podmínkami. Software XXX smíte používat při práci ke komunikaci, která se týká vašeho podnikání, v souladu s touto smlouvou a všemi platnými Dalšími podmínkami (jako jsou Podmínky pro poskytování služeb uvedené v odstavci 7 níže, pokud používáte placené produkty VoIP a/nebo jste členem nebo správcem Ovládacího panelu pro firmy).
2.2 Zákaz udělování práv třetím stranám: Nesmíte prodávat, postupovat, pronajímat, dávat do nájmu, distribuovat, vyvážet, dovážet, jednat jako prostředník nebo poskytovatel, ani jinak udělovat práva třetím stranám ohledně softwaru XXX nebo jakékoli jeho části.
2.3 Zákaz úprav: Nesmíte provádět, způsobovat, dovolovat ani schvalovat úpravy, vytváření odvozených děl, překlad, zpětnou analýzu, dekompilaci, převod ze strojového kódu nebo hacking softwaru XXX nebo jakékoli jeho části, s výjimkou případů, které připouští zákon.
2.4 Třetí strany: Software XXX může být začleněn do softwaru a dalších technologií, které vlastní a ovládají třetí strany, a takový software nebo technologie mohou být začleněny do softwaru XXX. Veškerý takový software nebo technologie třetích stran, které jsou začleněny do softwaru XXX, spadají pod tuto smlouvu. U všech ostatních technologií a softwaru třetích stran, které mohou být distribuovány se softwarem XXX, se vyžaduje, abyste výslovně přijali licenční smlouvu s touto třetí stranou. Berete na vědomí a souhlasíte, že nebudete navazovat smluvní vztah se společností XXX nebo jejími sesterskými společnostmi ohledně takových technologií nebo softwaru třetích stran a veškerá svá práva budete uplatňovat pouze vůči příslušné třetí straně a nikoli vůči společnosti XXX nebo jejím sesterským společnostem.
2.5 Výhradní vlastnictví: Veškerá práva k duševnímu vlastnictví k softwaru XXX, webovým stránkám společnosti XXX, online materiálům společnosti XXX a propagačním materiálům společnosti XXX jsou a zůstanou výhradním vlastnictvím společnosti XXX a/nebo jejích poskytovatelů licencí. Nic v této smlouvě neznamená převod jakýchkoli práv k duševnímu vlastnictví, ani vám touto smlouvou nejsou žádná práva k duševnímu vlastnictví propůjčována. Máte pouze právo na omezené využívání práv k duševnímu vlastnictví, která jsou vám touto smlouvou udělována. Nesmíte podniknout žádné kroky, kterými byste ohrozili, omezili nebo narušili práva k duševnímu vlastnictví společnosti XXX. Jakékoli neoprávněné používání práv k duševnímu vlastnictví společnosti XXX představuje porušení této smlouvy a zároveň porušení zákonů a úmluv na ochranu duševního vlastnictví, včetně, kromě jiného, autorských zákonů a zákonů o ochranných známkách.
