I do hereby cancel (and make nugatory) the contract

vs. repudiating unilaterally, namely giving notice of refusing performance and mutual-only or court-ordered rescission.

Tom West III's ES>AmE law dictionary: dejar sin efecto una sentencia > set aside or vacate a judgment.

Contrary to comments at a worskhop in London made by an English Solicitor and Barrister who had obviously 'forgotten' the UK Consumer Credit Act 1974., a contract can be cancelled in the sense of countermanded or 'making nugatory'.
Example sentence:

onsumer Credit Act 1974 .... Duty to give notice of cancellation rights.

I hereby rescind and repudiate the contract

No need for the antiquated "I do hereby..." construction
Ans whilst "making nugatory" is doubtless a valid term, I hardly regard it to be accessible English on the world scale
Peer comment(s):

neutral Adrian MM. (X) : can a contract be unilaterally rescinded in law?// A predictable response. Problem is that rescission, both in US (Barron's Am. Law Dictionary) & UK law, suggests *both* parties are agreeing to ditching the contract. But I like 'your' repudiation idea.

are we not dealing with Latin America here? I don't think EN law applies there// "terminate and repudiate" perhaps?
