Arabic term

المربعات المؤقتة

Arabic to English Law/Patents Law (general) Yemen
Not sure what that means. "Interim/temporary squares" doesn't make much sense. Here is the sentence:

ولكن يلاحظ أن البعض منا لا يريد أن يشارك في بناء هذا الجسر ويصر على استمرار الخوض في مواضيع المربعات المؤقتة ، حيث تزدحم المطالب وتتصادم المواقف ويطغى الجانب الشخصي على الجوانب العامة

Here is another one with the word مربع that seems out of sync with the whole sentence unless this is specific to Yemen:

• يبدو أننا نقفز بالنقاش إلى مربع الاستنتاجات قبل الانتهاء من اللقاءات التشاورية.

drop it off

The word مربعات in such contexts does not sound Arabic for me at all. I believe that it is a literal translation from another language as the English expression "back to square one" which some people tend to translate as العودة إلى المربع الأول!!!

Given your contexts, I do see that you may drop such "squares" off and the meaning will be fine.

personal concerns

If, as I understand, الجسر here in not literal, then المربعات المؤقتة is abstract too. Apparently the writes is trying to say that every one is in a world of their own and do not want to discuss common issues or concerns. More information on the topic would be favorable.
