he would be quite bland sarebbe rimasto alquanto indifferente Explanation: Leggendo tutto il cotesto io direi così. "He would be quite bland..." non è quello che pensa lui, ma è la narrazione in terza persona di ciò che accade... "Bland" significa anche "che non mostra emozioni, interesse, etc. " quindi che rimane indifferente, imperturbabile. Nonostante ciò, avrebbe dovuto dare delle spiegazioni al tizio che entra nella sua stanza. pleasantly gentle or agreeable: a bland, affable manner. soothing or balmy, as air: a bland southern breeze. nonirritating, as food or medicines: a bland diet. not highly flavored; mild; tasteless: a bland sauce. lacking in special interest, liveliness, individuality, etc.; insipid; dull: a bland young man; a bland situation comedy. unemotional, indifferent, or casual: his bland acknowledgment of guilt. https://www.dictionary.com/browse/bland?s=t |

he would be quite bland Sarebbe stato affabile/gentile (oppure, nel contesto) Avrebbe fatto finta di niente Explanation: 1. Characterized by a moderate, unperturbed, or tranquil quality, especially: a. Pleasant in manner; smooth: a bland smile. b. Not irritating or stimulating; soothing: a bland diet. c. Exhibiting no personal worry, embarrassment, or concern: told a series of bland lies. https://www.thefreedictionary.com/bland -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 giorno 22 ore (2019-01-29 09:21:44 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- A differenza di quanto dice il collega, secondo me è proprio una sua riflessione. È un dialogo tra sé e sé, si ripropone di essere cortese, o di fare finta di niente, ma va riflettendo che l’altro potrebbe chiedergli spiegazioni (e dunque non sa se la sua strategia possa funzionare). |
