Spanish term or phrase: a cuya irrevocabilidad se le fija
Part of the text of a power of attorney ("poder especial irrevocable") included in a notarial instrument/title deed (escritura) recording conveyance of title to a property under a horizontal property regime in Argentina.

"La mera aceptación del presente reglamento [= Reglamento de Copropietarios y Administración] por parte de los adquirentes de unidades implicara (sic = implicará) el otorgamiento de este poder, a cuya irrevocabilidad se le fija, a los efectos previstos en el

I found this same expression in just one other, very similar, document from Argentina (twice in Art. 19 and once in Art. 20): http://www.kilometro314.com/pdf/documentacion/7/7_documentac...

Article 1977 of the Civil Code just establishes the conditions under which the POA is irrevocable. https://www.oas.org/dil/esp/codigo_civil_de_la_republica_arg... (p. 398).

I'm pretty sure this just means "with full effect given to the irrevocability/irrevocable nature thereof", "the irrevocability of which shall be enforced", "which shall be irrevocable (pursuant to Article 1977...)" etc., but I'd like to understand how "fijar" is being used and get another opinion here.

Thanks for spotting "fijar" was linked to the "plazo" - despite me carelessly not posting the whole sentence! This allowed me to structure the translation quite easily. I used "shall be irrevocable... for a period of fifty years" but your suggestion or any variation of the same idea would also work.

(the acquirer) recognises and agrees to be bound by the irrevocability of the PoA

Explanation:
I suggest that it means that the “adquirientes de unidades”, in accepting the regulations, “hereby recognise (and agree to be bound by) the irrevocability (irrevocable nature of) the POA.

IOW, is not that “the irrevocability shall be enforced” but, rather, that the acquiring party recognises that, like it or not, the PoA is part and parcel of the deal.

Explanation:
Doesn't it just mean that the POA is considered to be granted with irrevocable effect?

"This POA is granted, with irrevocable effect, simply by the unit purchaser's acceptance of these regulations..."

Notes to answerer
Asker: I think you're on the money here and "fijar" is referring to "fijar el plazo"; "a cuya irrevocabilidad se le fija (...) el plazo de XX años" = "cuya irrevocabilidad se fija en el plazo de XX años".

agree  Kristina Love: That doc was said to be very similar, not the same as the source, but if the sentence in the source ends the same way, I think you're right, that's a key part of the sentence that affects the meaning of the phrase.
