My understanding is that the trust agreement grants the trustees powers that the trustees may release. To be valid, the release has to be in writing. The effect of the release is to bind ("lier") the successors of the trustees. These successors cannot get these powers back because they are "bound" by the release. But this is only my understanding ... this is why I think that " vis-Ã -vis " could not work.
