Source text - English The bus climbed steadily up the road. The country was barren and rocks stuck up through the clay. There was no grass beside the road. Looking back we could see the country spread out below. Far back the fields were squares of green and brown on the hillsides. Making the horizon were the brown mountains. They were strangely shaped. As we climbed higher the horizon kept changing. As the bus ground slowly up the road we could see other mountains coming up in the south. Then the road came over the crest, flattened out, and went into a forest. It was a forest of cork oaks, and the sun came through the trees in patches, and there were cattle grazing back in the trees. We went through the forest and the road came out and turned along a rise of land, and out ahead of us was a rolling green plain, with dark mountains beyond it. These were not like the brown, heat-baked mountains we had left behind. These were wooded and there were clouds coming down from them. The green plain stretched off. It was cut by fences and the white of the road showed through the trunks of a double line of trees that crossed the plain toward the north. As we came to the edge of the rise we saw the red roofs and white houses of Burguete ahead strung out on the plain, and away off on the shoulder of the first dark mountain was the gray metal-sheathed roof of the monastery of Roncesvalles.
Translation - Portuguese O ônibus subia com estabilidade a rua. A região tinha terras inférteis com pedras em meio ao chão de barro. Não havia mato ao lado da estrada. Olhando para trás conseguíamos ver vastas terras lá embaixo. Lá atrás os campos eram quadrados verdes e marrons ao redor da colina. No horizonte se via as montanhas marrons. Elas tinham formas estranhas. O horizonte mudava quanto mais subíamos. À medida que o ônibus avançava lentamente pela estrada, nós podíamos ver outras montanhas mais ao sul. Então a estrada alcançou sua crista, se tornou plana, e entrou numa floresta. Era uma floresta de sobreiros, e os raios de sol se espalhavam em filetes por entre as folhas, e havia gado pastando entre as árvores. Passamos pela floresta e o caminho nos levou ao redor de uma elevação de terra, e logo a nossa frente havia uma planície verde ondulante, com montanhas escuras ao fundo. Essas não eram montanhas marrons e bronzeadas pelo sol como as que havíamos deixado para trás. Essas eram arborizadas e havia nuvens que desciam por elas. A planície verde se estendia. Era cortada por cercas e a brancura da estrada se mostrava através de duas fileiras de troncos que atravessavam a planície em direção ao norte. Ao passo que chegamos ao topo da subida nos deparamos com os telhados vermelhos e as casas brancas de Burguete, que se espalhavam pela planície, e, ao longe, no ombro da primeira montanha escura, estava o telhado metálico do monastério de Roncesvalles.

That being said, you know you can’t escape, right? You’re a criminal. You helped cover up so many crimes–

Now at the age of 30 and studying Language Arts (English) at a college in Brazil I aim to improve my skills in English and Brazilian Portuguese, for these are the two languages I work with.
