I have registered with Proz.com as I am very interested in starting off in this buisness working as a freelancetranslator, hopefully doing full time from september this year. At the present time I'll be able to dedicate several hours a day doing translatons.

I'm Norwegian, but I've been living in a suburb near Milan since 1990. I got graduated in Nursing "Scienze Infermieristiche " at the University "l'Università degli studi di Milano" in 1997, and after that I've got many years of experience, performing as a nurse, both from the Italian and the Norwegian healthcaresystem as follows,

-practioner and student in the hospital "l'Azienda Ospedaliera S. Paolo di Milano.
-nurse in the operathing theatre in the same hospital.
-nurse in a ward of cardiology in the hospital "Aker sykehus" in Oslo.

I'm a member of the Nurses organisation "IPASVI" in Milan - Italy and of "NSF" - Norsk sykepleierforbund - in Norway.
Comunication and information to medical staff, collegues and patients as been a very important part of my work in all these years. I've trougout my performance as a nurse, regularly consulted literature in the area of medicine and health in Norwegian, English and Italian.

In adittion to common linguistich texts and dialogues, I use and understand perfectly the terminology in the field of health and medicine in these languages, and it's in this specific professional I think I'll be benefitting most potential clients doing translations.

I've always had a very strong interest for languages in general, and already at highschool I had Italian in adittion to English and French. As per my linguistich competence and experience as a nurse, I have, on behalf of the Norwegian embassy in Rome and the Norwegian consolate in Milan, worked as an interpreter with very positive results. For an intercultural program of a primary school nearby my home, I've translated some books from Norwegian to Italian.

I don't have any formal education as a translator, but I strongly believe I'm qualified enough and ready to start off in this business. Despite of my lack of experience at the present time, I hope You will give me an opportunity and I will do my very best to reach the highest possible quality of the work I deliver.
