Dear all, I'm having some trouble verifying the tags for a Slovakian file. I used Context TM wizard to create the initial file from a previous xml translation and then shipped the ttx and previous tm off to be translated. There were 20 odd languages in all, using the same INI file. I have been able to verify the tags for all languages except Slovakian. When I try to verify I receive the following error: -2147024809 The parameter is incorrect.

The INI file is not the problem as the other languages, using the same ini, verified. I'm using SDL Trados 7.5.0.759 - (Build 759)

Huh?! If you are the client, then it should not be doing it in the first place - any half-decent translator using TagEditor should have it done it him or herself.
Which is what I would suggest you do - ask for the Verifier log file.

That's what I thought

Hi Vito, Unfortunately I'm not really the client, more an agent and localizer. And the real problem was that the generic tag verifier plugin simply wouldn't start up. The error appears immediately and so there isn't even a log. I discovered the problem lay in the initial data received from the client, which itself came from another vendor who didn't even run a verifier...what was it you said about "half-decent translators"... See more

I discovered the problem. An additional tag had been added as a full stop! How the original translator even managed to do that with the strict settings is beyond me. Anyway, I deleted that and the file verified without problem. The devil is in the details, or something like that... Might think about running the tag verifier on received data before outsourcing in future! Anyway, thanks for the input. All the best, Owen
