Sara Migliori . Let's start by saying that no CAT translation tool is error-free and each of them serves a different purpose. I've joined the Lilt pool of translators recently and I am impressed by the large potential that this system has.
Pros: the tool is very easy to learn and quite responsive, cloud-based so you don't have to go through the pain of installing a new version over and over, the more you use it, the more the MT engine learns your style.
Extra reward: the team is very dynamic and responsive, you can tell they are developing the tool under your eyes. When it comes to improving the tool, the suggestions are well received and never taken for granted.
Cons: the MT seems to struggle when it comes to grammar, but the sentences usually need minor updates, the tag-management system is still cranky if compared to other CAT tools.

It’s not just a simple CAT tool, it’s a well-designed platform that creates a great workplace for linguists and makes your translation / editing work easier, faster and more interesting. It features the broadest functionality, ease of use, prompt technical support and ergonomic design. It is quite obvious that developers are constantly working to improve the system, regularly update and introduce new functions and options, strive to make the best product possible – and this encourages us to make our work better as well. Feedback is also here: everyone who works with the platform can share their vision or ideas on how to improve the work, and then watch how his or her suggestion is realized. Sometimes there are periods when the platform is slow or additional actions have to be taken, which slows down the work, but in general this does not spoil the positive attitude.

Availability of the tool (i.e. availability of segments already translated so you can use them in similar or equal segments) is limited; although with a good Internet network, it sometimes does not show a 100% already translated segment, so the productivity during these downtimes is equal to translate from scratch. Another annoying question is tagging. The tool does not allow you to insert a tag in a place, but it inserts them where it thinks it is most suitable and then you have to use the mouse to drag and drop to put it in the right order, although I have to say that the automatic tag input system has improved a little bit these last two months.
Apart from these big issues, the tool is great, quick and user-friendly. I would recommend it to anyone.

Other CAT tool alternatives with adaptive MT augmentation

TargetLanguages . As a fellow translator and LSP operator, I look at all the user reviews. It seems that the adaptive MT augmentation that Lilt offers is unique, as most other well-known CAT tools (e.g. SDL and memoQ) only provide one MT suggestion per segment, i.e. the MT engine does not assist the translator in adapting to changes in sentence structure and terms used. Besides Lilt, have you seen this functionality offered by any other CAT tools?
