I answered 'quick and easy' Nov 9, 2011

But in reality I prefer a bit of both. I like things that are slow because they require creativity and thought, rather than because I need to look up every second word or struggle to read dodgy hard copies. Having said that, I've mastered the art of turning down jobs which are too challenging as invariably the monetary reward does not reflect the level of complexity or awkwardness.

Interesting jobs! Some will be quick and easy, others are challenging.

I like to have a balanced life, or as balanced as possible. I enjoy long challenging jobs, but after those or in between I prefer easy ones. I also enjoy rush projects, the kind that make you work non-stop for a few days, though after that I need a few days to charge my brain and can not concentrate on anything that is too challenging.

Profitable jobs! Nov 9, 2011

I voted other.
A mixture is great, but if I'm honest the most important thing is how much I can earn per hour, producing a high-quality translation of course (speed without quality is only likely to be profitable short-term).
So, if it's complicated that's fine - so long as it's priced accordingly!

I like a combination of the two. I really enjoy slow and challenging jobs, as long as they are interesting and stimulating to work on. I also like a bit of variety, so I like to fit in quick and easy jobs around other more time-consuming jobs.

because I find slow/challenging jobs rewarding and quick/easy ones profitable. The challenging jobs are translations (mostly literary) which fill my soul with satisfaction and push me forward, but the quick/easy translations are the ones that fill my purse. Should there be non of those, I am not sure I would be able to accept the rewarding ones. So I balance to the best of my knowledge

Other, for both, no preference Nov 9, 2011

Probably a slight preference for the big slow jobs in fact. They generally offer the opportunity to get your teeth into part of a puzzle, enhance knowledge, require fairly extensive research into the field, to get a bigger picture of a subject area. This can also apply to shorter jobs too but I am sure you see what I mean!

A short job afterwards is a refreshing change. A succession of small jobs makes me twitchy. In fact, what I really like is a big ongoing job, or series of jobs on one theme, or closely related themes, with enough time scheduled in to allow me to do the quick urgent jobs for a break. That sort of set up is ideal for me. I appreciate getting back into the big job, am efficient on the shorter ones, and maintain concentration whilst changin focus.

What more could a girl ask for?

Assuming all pay on time too. There is nothing more demotivating than having probems being paid.
