Vna vita, una potestas
'Potestas' means an opportunity. You could employ 'unus casus', which means '(accidental) chance', lit. what befalls one, good or bad.

: Agree but I would use "occasio" instead of "potestas".

Vita una est.
This is my latin version for the phrase. There is probably a proverb for this idea. If I find it later, I will add it as a note.
Hope this will help.

Joseph Brazauskas
: It means 'Life is one'./No, 'Life is only one' would be 'Vita tantum una est' or 'Vita una modo est', at least in classical Latin.
