Teilprothese (Hemi-/Duokopfprothese): Nur der Hüftkopf wird ersetzt. Die natürliche Hüftpfanne bleibt erhalten.
Der künstliche Hüftkopf (Duokopf) besteht aus zwei halbkugelförmigen Schalen und einem Schaft, der in
den Oberschenkelknochen eingebracht wird. Zuvor werden der natürliche Hüftkopf und ein Teil des
Oberschenkelhalses entfernt, der Knochen für die Aufnahme der Teilprothese vorbereitet und diese dann implantiert.
Pare che in inglese si dica "duo head prothesis" (cfr. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/german_to_english/medical:_instrum... Confrontandomi con un'esperta, è saltato fuori che potrebbe trattarsi di "protesi con cotile a doppia mobilità". Die Duokopfprothese ist eine bipolare Hüftprothese ...
Früher hat man diese unipolaren Prothesen eingebaut. Die haben einen Schaft und da oben drauf sitzt starr der künstliche Hüftkopf, der in der Gelenkpfanne des Patienten artikuliert. Das führt aber auf Dauer zu Problemen, vor allem kann der Hüftkopf wandern (Metall ist ja viel härter als Knochen) und sich über die Jahre ins Becken vorschieben.

Da besteht der Hüftkopf aus einer Metallschale mit Kunststoffinlay in dem wiederum eine kleine Metallkugel artikulieren kann, die mit dem Schaft verbunden ist. Man macht also aus einem Gelenl, dem Hüftgelenk, quasi zwei. Dadurch halten die viel länger und es gibt nicht mehr diese Protrusion ins kleine Becken.
