My first inclination is "green cartridge", not "environmental cartridge". Both appear in Google searches. The former risks confusion with green-colored ink cartridges, but I like it for its trendiness. The latter lacks a certain cachet for me -- am I just being too snooty about using it?

The hyphen seems to be used when "cartridge" is used adjectivally, as in "environmentally-friendly cartridge recycling program". |
