Like many X-series aircraft, the X-15 was designed to be carried aloft and drop launched from under the wing of a B-52 mother ship and it used two Reaction Motors XLR11 liquid-propellant rocket engines, enhanced to provide a total of 16,000 pounds-force of thrust. But by November 1960, Reaction Motors was able to deliver the XLR99 rocket engine, generating 57,000 pounds-force of thrust. The XLR99 used anhydrous ammonia and liquid oxygen as propellant, and hydrogen peroxide to drive the high-speed turbopump that delivered propellants to the engine. It could burn 15,000 pounds of propellant in just 80 seconds! The X-15's official world record for the highest speed ever recorded by a manned, powered aircraft, set in October 1967 when William J. Knight flew Mach 6.72 at 102,100 feet. That’s a speed of 4,520 miles per hour and has remained unchallenged as of the making of this video. During the X-15 program, 13 flights by eight pilots met the Air Force spaceflight criterion by exceeding the altitude of 50 miles thus qualifying these pilots as being astronauts. Three X-15s were built, flying 199 test flights, the last on 24 October 1968.
Chengdu J-20
China has put the world on notice with its newly developed Chengdu J-20. It is a single-seat, twinjet, all-weather, stealth fifth-generation fighter aircraft developed by China's Chengdu Aerospace Corporation for the People's Liberation Army Air Force. It is the world's third operational fifth-generation stealth fighter aircraft, and the first in Asia. Most of the plane's avionics are top secret, and even the radar type of the jet fighter is unknown. But what is known is that the main weapon bay is capable of housing both short and long-range air-to-air missiles while the two smaller lateral weapon bays behind the air inlets are intended for short-range AAMs. These bays allow closure of the bay doors prior to firing the missile, thus enhancing stealth with most of its weapons carried internally. The engines are also unknown but the prototype is believed to be initially powered by WS-10 and/or the AL-31F engines. China is currently working on an advanced domestic turbofan engine similar in performance to the Pratt & Whitney F119 coded WS-15 to take the J-20 to a higher performance level in the future like the ability to super cruise.

Yes, leadership is just like anything worthwhile in life and in business: we have to work on it.
No one is born a leader, some people might have acquired some leadership skills like: charisma, versatility, humility, strength, listening and communication skills along the way growing up, but all the traits of a leader can be learned if desired.
Leadership is an art, and we can master it, be good at it or be poor at it. Again, like any art and skills, our fluency, effectiveness and results will depend on how much we know, study it and practice this beautiful art.
Learning to be the best, engaging, inspiring, motivating, and effective leader is such a wonderful and inspiring journey.
Some of the skills of leadership you will learn, some others you will just have to step into it by deciding to do it.
Here are some qualities and behaviors I believe we must have as leaders.
- Leaders are always learning – They read a lot, they have masterminds, watch great videos and go to conferences. They work on mastering self-development. We can’t give if we don’t have it.
- Leaders don’t push and force people, they pull, engage and inspire people by selling the people on the vision, on themselves, and on the future.
- Leaders are bold, they go where no one has gone before. They open new paths, they are not afraid of failure or rejection. They are innovators.
- Leaders are decisive, they make decisions fast, based on facts not on emotions, and they follow it through.
- Leaders are strong, they know we can’t please everyone and be effective.
- Leaders are Coachable, they are open to suggestions, ideas, and changes. They are flexible, and they control their ego.
- Leaders have great listening skills and communication skills. They listen carefully, ask lots of questions. They also share, coach, guide, train and motivate the team.
One of the best quotes I know and love about Leadership is from the great Jim Rohn: “The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly.”
Leadership can be learned, and it’s fundamentally important and necessary for anyone that wants to lead their field.

We developed Growth Rate InDex (GRiD) for estimating in situ growth rates of ultra-low coverage (>0.2×) and de novo-assembled metagenomes. Applying GRiD to human and environmental metagenomic datasets to demonstrate its versatility, we uncovered new associations with previously uncharacterized bacteria whose growth rates were associated with several disease characteristics or environmental interactions. In addition, with GRiD-MG (metagenomic), a high-throughput implementation of GRiD, we estimated growth dynamics of 1756 bacteria species from a healthy skin metagenomic dataset and identified a new Staphylococcus-Corynebacteriumantagonism likely mediated by antimicrobial production in the skin. GRiD-MG significantly increases the ability to extract growth rate inferences from complex metagenomic data with minimal input from the user.

Além disso, com o GriD-MG (metagenômico), uma implementação de alto rendimento do GRiD, estimou-se a dinâmica de crescimento de 1756 espécies de bactérias de um conjunto de dados metagenômico de pele saudável e identificou-se um novo antagonismo Staphylococcus-Corynebacterium provavelmente mediado por uma produção antimicrobiana na pele.
