Survey on the Tenancy Control of Sub-divided Units

Policy 21 Limited (Policy 21) has been commissioned by the Transport and Housing Bureau of the HKSAR Government to conduct a survey of tenants living in subdivided units and sub-tenants.

The research report based on the data received will be used to compile a research report to the Government, analyse the situation of subdivided units in Hong Kong, and exploring the feasibility of and options relating to the introduction of tenancy control on subdivided units and sub-tenancy.

A sample of quarters has been randomly selected using a scientifically designed sampling scheme and all households living in those quarters will be invited for the survey. Yours is one of the households sampled and I am therefore writing to seek your co-operation in participating in the survey. An Enumerator from our company, _______________ (Enumerator Card No.: E _______________), has visited your household today at _____:_____ am/pm, but unfortunately no one was available during the time.

An enumerator from Policy 21 will visit your household for an interview during the period from September to December 2020. The enumerator will carry an Enumerator Identity Card issued by Policy 21, which is available for inspection.

If there is more than one household in your premises, please pass this letter to the other household(s) as they will also be included in the survey.

Please rest assured that all information collected in the survey will be kept strictly confidential. The information will only be analysed in aggregate without revealing the identity of individual respondents.

The success of this survey relies on your full cooperation. If you are interested in participating in the survey, you can call our telephone interviewer on _______________ to arrange for a telephone interview. As a token of appreciation, a cash coupon of HK$50 will be offered to householders who have successfully completed the interview.

Your co-operation in the survey, which is vital to its success, will be greatly appreciated.

Please kindly provide the Sample Code printed on the upper left corner of this letter when making an appointment.

Upon completion of the interview, our telephone interviewer will arrange with you a convenient time for our Enumerator to visit your household again to give you the cash coupon of HK$50.
