Hallo, I am trying to import a TMX file from Transit into Trados but it does not work The following error message appears: Error 50400: Error in TMX input Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!! | | | tmx validator | Feb 20, 2006 |
try cleaning with the tmx validator, freeware from http://www.maxprograms.com/ After that, I usually run it through the tmx editor (paid software from Heartsome, but this step may not be necessary), replace the string < prop type="Project"/ > with < prop type="Project"> < /prop > and Trados opens the tmx. Get a demo of Heartsome TMX Editor from http://www.heartsome.net and convert the file to TMX Level 1 (the editor has an option for that in Tasks menu). In TMX Level 1 there is no markup information (no tags) in the file, but you can still reuse the text in your translations. Hope this helps. Rodolfo

Actually, I am not so sure the "bpt, ept" thing really matters | Feb 20, 2006 |
I get this warning about " unbalanced bpt, ept" on TMX exports from Transit all the time and I import them into Trados without any problems I know of. What is the full text of your error message in Trados when you try to import? Antonin | | | Error 50400: Error in TMX input | Feb 20, 2006 |
The error is this one | | |
(1) What does the Transit tag check tell you? (2) If you need the Trados TM for translating in Word, you can simply follow Rodolfo's advice. If you want to use it in TagEditor, I'd rather keep the tags. (3) You can try to open your .tmx export from Transit in Heartsome's TMX editor anyway and see what happens. Another suggestion: you may be able to open your "corrupted" TMX file with open source program Okapi Olifant (http://okapi.sourceforge.net/index.html) and to export this TM again....

I had the same problem when trying to import a WF TM in Workbench or Trados Studio and found Éric Cléach's answer about opening the TM in Okapi Olifant and exporting the TM really useful. Now I can open the TM in Studio and work just fine!! | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Transit - Trados: Error in TMX header Protemos translation business management system | Create your account in minutes, and start working! 3-month trial for agencies, and free for freelancers!
