You know that in Roman Empire the work was done by slaves (servus:the slave/servant). So "employee" in the contemporary meaning does'nt exist. I offer you several possibilities
for helper:
auxiliator=adiutor=minister
and for collaborator:
coadiutor=cooperator=administer
