This is from a standard hospital form for neck ultrasound.

The word is cut off at the left margin. So it looks like "оходимы". And the paragraph looks like this (I hope I guessed the rest of the truncated words correctly):

It may be partially obstructed but still passable, there are degrees of obstruction. Somewhat tricky question.

Asker: Thank you, Evgeni. Yes it was a test translation that I also took (and passed) last year. I am aligning my old translations to update my TM's and trying to find the best terminology. Thank you again.

Asker: BTW, I translated it as "unobstructed", but I wasn't very happy with it.

patent ductus arteriosus abnormal persistence of an open lumen in the ductus arteriosus, between the aorta and the pulmonary artery, after birth. The ductus arteriosus is open during prenatal life, allowing most of the blood of the fetus to bypass the lungs, but normally this channel closes shortly after birth and changes into a fibrous cord called the ligamentum arteriosum. When it remains open, it places special burdens on the left ventricle, since much of the ventricular output is being shunted from the aorta into the pulmonary artery. The condition may coexist with other congenital malformations.

Asker: Thank you Frank. In this context, the word patent has a negative connotation just as in patent foramen ovale. These pathologies make it hard to use the word patent in healthy terms. I can see how this can be very tricky. Nice summary.
