English to Persian (Farsi): A vaccine for the H1N1 strain of swine flu
Source text - English A vaccine for the H1N1 strain of swine flu became available in October 2009 as the country girded for a second wave of the pandemic that broke out across the country and much of the world in the spring. Despite shortages and confusion in the initial weeks of the vaccination effort, by December enough doses were available that officials expanded the effort beyond the high-risk groups initially targeted: pregnant women, people under 24 years old or caring for infants, people with high-risk medical conditions and health-care workers.
By the end of the year, over 85 million doses were available. By February 2010, there was so much unused swine flu vaccine in the world that rich nations, including the United States, were trying to get rid of their surpluses. But logistical difficulties meant that the world’s poorest countries — a few still facing the brunt of the pandemic — were receiving very little of it.
Medical experts looking back on the course of the epidemic -- although it may be far from over -- have credited luck and a series of rapid but conservative decisions by federal officials with limiting the virus's toll. In December, federal health officials estimated that 10,000 Americans had died since April of swine flu, far below the range of 30,000 to 90,000 predicted by a presidential panel.
The largest stumble seen in the program was the pace at which the vaccine was produced. The government predicted in early summer that it would have 160 million vaccine doses by late October. It ended up with less than 30 million, leading to a public outcry and Congressional investigations. But medical experts pointed to an unusually slow gestation time for the vaccine as the prime culprit, a factor beyond anyone's control.
What makes me unique is that I am an expert in editing/proofreading services because I chose to work on this area for my M.A. thesis. And when someone very well knows the range of errors involved in translation, s/he has a high chance of avoiding them!
