Hey many happy wishes on your birthday dear ProZ, well to the people behind it I mean.
So ProZ is not a baby nor a toddler anymore, has all its teeth and is biting nicely into the world of translation?
That's good, I'm not very good at making astonishing looking and tasting pureed cakes for babies, now as the big boy is four now, I can bake a very nice, more solid cake.

That's good, I'm not very good at making astonishing looking and tasting pureed cakes for babies, now as the big boy is four now, I can bake a very nice, more solid cake.
Let's see, a big thick base of commercial job posters with an international twist for more spice, some multinationals for the oiling (crude oil, ok? ), some legal people to smooth the cream filling, some translation agencies to do all the rubbing in, some charities for a sprinkling of all thousands (kiddy stuff but you're 4, remember, you are allowed to forget about weight loss and additives once in a while) and some artist material for the cherry on the cake.
Now, is my cake to your liking big boy?
Actually can anyone tell me, please if this four year old is a boy or a girl?
Many years of success (I swear this isn't even remotely selfish now as most of my clients no longer come from ProZ, I've realized. Stunned and shocked, I must remedy this some time ! )
And many happy returns!!!!

It has been a real pleasure for me to see baby ProZ develop since 1999 into this vibrant, bright 4-y/o of 2003.

I never realised that Proz.com is already four years old, I'd just like to add a brief word of congratulations and thanks to Henry for starting it up in the first place.
Thanks to the site I've received and offered terminological help of all kinds, have landed a couple of jobs, have been able to place large jobs with suitable translators, have been able to study member glossaries (it's quite mind-boggling what a body of knowledge has already accumulated), have made all kinds of acqu... Thanks to the site I've received and offered terminological help of all kinds, have landed a couple of jobs, have been able to place large jobs with suitable translators, have been able to study member glossaries (it's quite mind-boggling what a body of knowledge has already accumulated), have made all kinds of acquaintances (admittedly of the electronic kind) and have even twice had the opportunity, although in the end it didn't work out, to take part in a powwow.
I work in a large German company in the energy business as the last remaining translator in a former 3-man department, and even though I have several colleagues with whom I am on very good terms there's nobody with whom I can really discuss anything related to translation, so the discovery of this site some two years ago has been something of a lifeline in many respects. In fact, I have it running in the background all day and every day (apart from weekends). (As it's in my office, it's free of charge as well!)
My wish for the site is that it will continue to grow and continue to provide an important - one could even say vital - service to translators everywhere.
